Darmflora plus select contains 8 carefully selected probiotics in a concentration of 48 billon per daily dose, as well as B vitamins, which contribute to a healthy intestinal mucosa. The probiotics in the instine, also called intestinal bacteria, are protected against stomach and bile acids.
Darmflora plus select is a preparation especially developed to sustain a healthy intestinal mucosa.The selected probiotics occur naturally, in the different parts of the intestine. They support the physiological intestinal flora in its functions. The contained B vitamins in Darmflora plus select promote a healthy intestinal mucosa and support the immune system. Vitamin B2 and biotin contribute to the preservation of the normal mucous membrance. Further, Vitamin B6, B12 and folic acid also promote a healthy immune system. The capsules can be taken during and after antibiotic therapy.
The intestine and intestinal flora
The intestine is up to nine meters long and has a surface as big as a tennis court - it is the largest organ in our body. It holds trillions of microorganisms that help to provide essential nutrients to our body. Though, natural probiotics in food are very fragile - they do not tolerate antibiotics, high temperatures or humidity. When stored the bacterial count drops significantly. In our body, the probiotics get damaged by stomach and bile acids. As a result, only 10 - 40 percent can reach the colon. Due to the entericcoated capsules of Darmflora plus select, the probiotics are able to reach the intestinal flora directly, because they are protected from stomach acid. The capsules are also protected against temperature fluctuations, so they do not have to be refrigerated, which makes them suitable for travels.

According to the multi-species concept, it is useful to supply several different probiotics of intestinal bacteria. Particularly, preparations with multi-species concepts, such as Darmflora plus select are recommended. Our product contains 8 different probiotics which, according to current studies, represent the natural combination that also occurs in the small and large intestine. Further, we only use registered, genetically characterized probiotics that are safe.

Darmflora plus select does not contain histamine-forming bacterial strains.
Recommended intake:
One capsule contains 8 selected probiotics in a concentration of 12 billion lactic acid bacteria (48 billion (=48 x 109) per day) as well as vitamins B1, B2, B6, B12, biotin and folic acid.
Take 4 capsules during a meal with liquid. In continuous use, the daily amount can be reduced to 2 capsules. Children between the age of 2-10 only require half of the amount. Capsules can be opened by pulling them apart if necessary. During antibiotics thearpy, Darmflora plus select should be taken as many hours after antibiotic intake as possible.
