Jod Calcium Kapseln from Dr. Wolz is an ideal supplement for a healthy thyroid and for healthy bones. The contained ingredients come from natural sources. The contained iodine contributes to a normal hormone production in the thyroid and to its normal function. The hormones regulate many functions in our body thereby, iodine supports the nervous system and contributes to a normal energy metabolism. Calcium supports healthy bones, the nervous system and the functionality of digestive enzymes. 


Iodine is an essential trace element that is of particular importance for the functionality of the thyroid gland. The thyroid gland needs iodine in order to produce the vital hormones: thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). In order to maintain a healthy thyroid gland, iodine is the most important component – it is needed to stimulate our metabolism and therefore, necessary for all metabolic processes in our body. 

During the glacial period, iodine was washed out of our soils, which is why our foods often contain small amounts of iodine. The alpine regions and coastal areas are particularly affected by that – not remarkable that Germany and Austria have a poor iodine supplementation. Two capsules of Jod Calcium from Dr. Wolz are enough to cover the daily requirement. Especially in case of an unbalanced diet or increased needs an additional iodine supply is recommended. Pregnant and breast-feeding women also have an increased need for iodine. The iodine being used in Jod Calcium Kapseln from Dr. Wolz comes from natural sources and is extracted from iodine kelp.


Calcium is the quantitatively most important mineral in our body. Calcium and phosphate form the component that is needed for the preservation of bones and teeth. Further, calcium promotes the nervous system and a healthy digestion. The human body can not produce minerals, such as calcium, itself. That is why calcium has to be supplemented on a daily basis. Due to an unbalanced diet the daily intake of calcium is often very low. However, the hormones for the calcium metabolism are formed in the thyroid gland, which makes a daily intake of iodine and calcium necessary. The calcium being used in Jod Calcium Kapseln from Dr. Wolz is a natural substance obtained from coralline algae.

Recommended daily amount of Iodine and Calcium

According to the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Ernährung e.V. (DGE), engl. German nutrition association adults need about 200 µg of iodine, children at the age of    4 -15 years need about 120 - 200 µg iodine daily. The daily intake of calcium should be about 1000 mg/day, because our thyroid gland also produces hormones that support the calcium metabolism. Due to growth, adolescents between the age of 13 and 18 need 1200 mg of calcium daily, which can be supplied with the help of natural supplements e.g. Jod Calcium Kapseln from Dr. Wolz.

Active ingredients 

Two capsules (recommended daily amount) contain: 260 mg Calcium und 150 µg Iodine. Jod Calcium Kapseln are vegan. The capsule shell is made of plant-based cellulose.

Recommended intake

We recommend taking two capsules during a meal or throughout the day. The capsules can be opened by pulling them apart if needed for example for children - so the content can be ingested with foods. 

Notice: Hyperthyrodism should not be treated with this product - an additional intake of iodine is not recommended.
