Darmflora plus Children + Family is a preparation especially developed for children´s health. It contains lactic acid bacteria and vitamin D, which helps to support the child´s immune system as well as growth and bone development. Vitamin B supports the mucous membranes and the intestinal mucosa. A special feature is the human milk oligosaccharide (HMO) 2’-fucosyllactose. This unique substance is also found in breast milk. Darmflora plus Children + Family contains 3 lactic acid bacteria strains (Lactobacillus acidophilus La-14®, Bifidobacterium longum -BB 536, Bifidobacterium lactis BI-04®) in a concentration of 6 billion per daily dose, as well as inulin from chicory.

The human milk oligosaccharide (HMO) 2’-fucosyllactose

2’-fucosyllactose is a special component of the so-called human milk oligosaccharides. They are complex carbohydrates which occur naturally in breast milk. HMO is the key differentiator between breast milk and cow milk. 2’-fucosyllactose is the most recurrent oligosaccharide in breast milk of most women. Breast milk is still the best nutrition for infants compared to other infant foods. Breastfeeding has the best results in terms of a child’s growth, nutritional condition, immune protection, intestinal flora and long-term development. Therefore attempts are made to narrow the nutritional gap between breastfeeding and the first given infant formula, which is mostly based on cow milk. 2’-fucosyllactose is so far the most thorough evaluated human milk oligosaccharide. 2’-fucosyllactose occurrs naturally in breast milk. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for children who have not been breastfed.

Usage

Recommended intake:
Children aged 1-2 years take 1 measuring spoon a day, aged 3 and above 2 measuring spoons, adults 2 measuring spoons a day (e.g. stir into yoghurt, muesli or beverages). Do not mix with hot drinks or meals.

Do not exceed the recommended daily intake. Do not use Darmflora plus Kinder + Family* if breast milk or other foods with added 2'-fucosyllactose are consumed on the same day. What is the correct dosage and how should Darmflora plus Kinder + Familie* be taken?

This flavourless powder can be easily incorporated into your daily diet.

Children aged 1 to 2 years: 1 measuring spoonful daily.
Children aged 3 years and over and adults: 2 measuring spoonfuls daily.
Directions for use: Simply stir into cold foods or drinks (e.g. yoghurt, muesli, apple sauce or a glass of water).
Important note: The powder must not be mixed with hot foods or drinks, so as not to impair the viability of the lactic acid bacteria.

Are there any restrictions on its use?

Age restriction: This product is suitable for children aged one year and over. For infants under one year of age (e.g. during the breastfeeding or preterm period), we recommend specialised products such as Curabiom® Baby.
Important information on combination use: Due to the 2′-fucosyllactose it contains, the product should not be used on the same day as breast milk or other foods to which 2′-fucosyllactose has already been added.
Allergen information: Contains milk components. It is free from gluten, gelatine, maltodextrin and colourings.

Can the product also be administered during or after a course of antibiotics?

Yes, this is possible and a sensible dietary strategy. As antibiotics can temporarily have a significant impact on the microbial density in the digestive tract, the nutritional intake of selected cultures during this phase has been shown to be beneficial.

Interval between doses: To prevent the beneficial cultures from being directly inactivated by the medication, it is essential to maintain a safety interval of at least 2 hours between taking the probiotics and the antibiotics.
