The Story of Dr. Wolz – a success from the start
1965-69
Siegfried Wolz laid the foundation stone for the founding of the company back in the 1960s. Together with Prof. Dr. Feodor Lynen, the biotechnology engineer worked as his scientific assistant on the isolation of co-enzyme A from yeast cells. For this research, Prof. Dr. Lynen received the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1964.
1969
In 1969 Siegfried Wolz founded Dr. Wolz Zell GmbH. From then on, he researched and cultivated enzyme yeast cells in his own company – at times together with the renowned physician and biologist Dr. med. Dr. rer. nat. P.G. Seeger. As a courageous pioneer, he was firmly convinced that with enzyme yeast cells he could make an important contribution to the comprehensive care of the human body cell as the basis for maintaining the health of the entire organism.
1974
An advertisement from 1974 reads: "Vitality and well-being: Already in the morning after breakfast you can do something for detoxification and oxidoreductive cell processes..."
1978
In 1978, the new production building with its own research department is completed at the new location in Geisenheim.
1980/81
Since 1980, the preparations have been available not only in Germany but also in more than 10 other countries, such as the USA, Australia and Spain.
1982
The first capsule preparation based on a life-active special yeast is introduced in 1982.
1985
With the development of Sanuzella® plus in 1985, the unique enzyme-yeast cell range is expanded. Today, the preparation is available under the name of Zell Oxygen® plus.
1990
In 1990, the company founder Siegfried Wolz hands over the management of the company to his two children Angela Wenzel-Wolz and Dr. med. Dipl.-Ing. Georg Wolz.
1994
The range of enzyme yeast cells continues to grow. In 1994, Sanuzella® ZYM sportsline is developed as a new preparation for performance and regeneration, which top athletes still rely on to this day.
2009
The extension building is completed in 2009. From now on, the company's buildings are heated with geothermal energy and the electricity consumption is completely covered by the company's own photovoltaic system.
2011
In 2011, Dr. Wolz Zell GmbH received the award as "Best Employer Rhein-Main".
2013
Thromboflow® is named "Reformprodukt" of the year 2013.
2015
In 2015, Curcumin Extract 45 was named "Reformprodukt" of the year.
2016
In 2016, Vitalkomplex Dr. Wolz is awarded the title of the "Reformprodukt" of the year.
2019
In 2019, Dr. Wolz Zell GmbH celebrates its 50th anniversary. At the same time, the new building, a low-energy house with a solar system and geothermal energy, will be completed and occupied.
2021
In 2021, Dr. Wolz Vitalkomplex will be chosen again as "Reformpordukt" – this time in the category vegan.
2023
In 2023, Darmflora plus select intensiv is awarded the title of the "Reformprodukt" of the year.
2024
In 2024, Dr. Wolz Vitalkomplex is chosen again as "Premium Product of the Year".
