For iodine supplementation from natural sources – for a healthy thyroid

Iodine-Calcium Capsules

The ingredients of Iodine-Calcium Capsules Dr. Wolz are obtained from natural sources such as iodine-containing seaweed and fossilized oyster shells. During the ice age, iodine was washed out of our soils, and consequently our diet now contains far too little iodine. In terms of iodine supply, Germany comes bottom of the league table among the western industrialised countries. 30% of the German population suffers from iodine deficiency. Iodine is needed for the formation of thyroid hormones. These regulate the function of the entire body, including energy metabolism and physical and mental performance.
For this purpose, the adult thyroid needs 200 µg iodine daily, while children between 1-10 years old need 100 µg of iodine.
The average iodine intake, however, is only 60 µg.
To ingest 100 µg of iodine, it would be necessary to eat 150 g of fish a day. The thyroid also produces hormones important for calcium metabolism.

Seaweed in dried form is suitable as an iodine-providing food supplement. It also contains many important trace elements such as zinc, selenium, iron etc. Controls ensure consistently high quality.  Calcium is important for the synthesis of bone. Calcium intake should be at least 800 mg in adults. The calcium in Iodine-Calcium Capsules Dr. Wolz originates from thousand year old fossil deposits of oyster shells, is of natural origin and free from organic residues. The use of these capsules is not recommended for persons with overactive thyroid function.
1-2 capsules of Iodine-Calcium Capsules Dr. Wolz daily satisfy daily requirements for iodine and a proportion of about 30% calcium. One capsule of Iodine-Calcium contains 100 µg iodine from iodine-containing seaweed and 130 mg calcium from oyster shells of fossil origin.
